Filofax Finsbury Personal in Blue.....giving it another go!

Well, here we go again......I'm giving my Finsbury another go. This time I am going to use it for a week at least, to see if I can really live in a snap closure binder. NO I'm not totally giving up my precious Holborn zip! Just want to give it a much deserved rest.

It still looks absolutely beautiful, and there are NO scratches or (**gasp**) tears on it, even though I carried it every day since I got it almost a year ago, in my bag! I just don't want it to get that way. SO comes the trial of the Finsbury again.

This color blue is SO beautiful that I really want to make it work, so we'll see how it goes this time. If nothing else, maybe I can at least get it broken in to almost lay flat. On a happy note, I did get both of my Bic four color pens to fit! So Yay for that! Filofax PLEASE make a zip binder in THIS color and either smooth or pebbled leather (as long as it doesn't fade or wear off)! If they did then it would probably be my one and ONLY binder!

I am hoping I will be able to work with it so I can carry it longer than a week. I am sorry, my beloved Holborn, but you really need a vacation from me, so enjoy it while it lasts because I will be excitedly waiting your return.....if I can last the whole week without you. (**sigh**)

Let the Holborn vacation begin, I shall miss you! (**runs off to sob**)

Filofax pocket dividers from a Photo Book

Thought I would post about something that I found was really cheap and easy to do. I made divider pockets for my Filofax! Using just a cheap 5x7 photo brag book for under $2.00 from Wal-Mart! I really like how it turned out AND I can change the pics/inserts in them as I like. This project used the 5x7 size so I could cut it down for my personal size Filofax,  the way I wanted it done.

Step 1. Purchase the book or use one you have laying around.  The book I bought has pages in it that fit 5x7 photos front and back, and you will want to cut out the number of pages that you will need for the amount of dividers you want. Cut the pages as close to the spine as possible. (In the pic there is a dotted line, that was near the spine and I cut on the other side of it to stay intact).

Step 2. Making sure your pocket opening is at the top, flip the page so the dotted line that was close to inside spine of book is now on right side as you are holding it. You will also have a dotted line across the bottom, that will ensure the pocket is sealed along bottom so the inserts won't come out and can only be loaded from top of pocket. (See pic in step 3)

Step 3. Holding the page pocket as stated in step 2, you will now measure for your desired width of your pocket. I used a Filofax divider to measure so that mine would be the same size as dividers that came with Filofax. (You could leave them a bit wider if you choose). As seen in the picture, you will have a little to cut from the top as well as the side with the dotted line.

Step 4. After trimming you should have a pocket that will be open down the side that had the dotted line and the top.  At this point you can hole punch down the now open side that had the dotted line. For this I again used my Filofax divider to lay back on it for hole placement and punched with my single hole punch. (It will need to be fairly sharp to go through the plastic!) Toward the end of my dividers the punch started getting dull and left a few holes a little stretched/off, but it still turns fine in my Filofax.

Step 5. All that is left is to make the inserts you want and slip in the pocket, one side or both, and place in your Filofax.

I think the project turned out very well and I am pleased with the result. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to leave them and I will try to get back to you as soon as possible. Thanks for stopping by!

To do insert for my Franklin Covey Pocket Page Marker

I made a To Do insert for my Franklin Covey Pocket Page Marker. I used a $.99 magnetic shopping list pad from Wal-Mart. Then trimmed top and bottom and then cut the page right in half. It is a perfect fit and gives me two lists per sheet! Turned out way better than I thought it would!

For a cheap solution, it turned out pretty good. This pic is also on my Instagram at user TerriSK35. Thanks for stopping by!

My new Chameleon handbag insert

Today I received my new handbag insert and I really like it! It is from a company called Chameleon Handbag inserts and it is a small business company started and owned by Kathy Robinson. The link is http://www.chameleoninserts.com and she has a wide selection of colors and styles.

I chose creamy tan for my color in the large size. I am probably going to order a medium and an extra large so I have a size to fit all my handbags, I like it that much! The construction looks to be very well made and it can be turned inside out as well, so your pockets can mainly be on the inside or the outside whichever you prefer. Once you have your items in the insert, it can be lifted from one bag and into another with ease! I love that! This means No more loading and unloading everything in your bag one item at a time leaving a bad chance of forgetting something in the exchange of bags (and who hasn't done that before?!)!

All in all, I am really pleased with my purchase. Check out her web site, she does have an informative video explaining about her, and the sizes and colors she offers. I believe she also still has a sale on the extra large size right now as well. Thanks for reading my post, and my pics here can also be seen on my Instagram at user TerriSK35.
